Make-a-Wish: Natalie's Knitting Challenge
Natalie was diagnosed with lymphoma when she was in 7th grade. She was treated at Lucille Packard Hospital at Stanford. During her treatment, she picked up knitting to pass the time. Natalie just turned 15 yrs old at the end of July and and just completed her last chemo treatment.
Natalie's wish through Make-a-Wish Greater Bay Area is to brighten the lives of patients at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, and to thank her caregivers who helped her beat cancer.
Knit or crochet a teenager- sized hat. We have loads of free hat patterns here. If the hat is sized for an adult, you can use a thinner yarn and smaller needles to make it slightly smaller.
Great choices of super soft, machine wash/dry yarn include Comfort, Comfort Chunky.Cherub Chunky, and Cherub Bulky.
Share photos of your hats on social media using #KnittingwithNatalie and tag Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford for your chance to win prizes.
Bring your hats in to the shop by August 28 and we'll ship them out to Make a Wish Greater Bay Area.
If you'd like to ship them yourself, the address is:
Make-a-Wish Greater Bay Area
1333 Broadway #200

All hats will be donated to the Teen Health Van, a service within Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford.
Let's help make Natalie's wish come true!
