The pleating of this cowl is inspired by the feathers of Hamaya - a “demon-breaking arrow”, a decorative arrow sold at shrines during New Year's to ward off misfortune and to attract good luck. The geometric look of the cowl is actually based on V-style pleats that occur in paper folding art of origami. The cowl can transform from a neat compact shape into multidimensional textured accessory. The cowl is worked from the bottom up. Pattern by Olga Buraya-Kefelian.
