Top-down, seamless and knit in one piece, Stillwater by Marie Greene is a gorgeous, versatile sweater that is quick to knit, with lovely “faux” cables down the front (no cabling required).
This was the first 4 Day Annual 4 Day KAL that was held in 2017. See our second year 4 Day KAL sweater here, and the third year 4 Day KAL sweater here.
SIZES:
32 (34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 52)“ bust – designed to knit your actual bust size with the finished result fitting well around the shoulders/sleeves/back (little to no ease) and a comfortable fit at the front that does not close.
Sleeve at widest point 11 (11½, 12, 13, 13, 14, 14, 15, 16, 17½)“
GAUGE:
20 stitches and 24 rows over 4” in stockinette
Please Note: Row gauge is important to this design, so take care to measure your row gauge as well as stitch gauge. The sweater has a close fit around the shoulders and sleeves to prevent it from slipping off when you wear it - if you have too many rows over 4” for gauge, you may need to adjust your needle size or add rows before the sleeve divide to get the correct fit. If you prefer more room, go up one or two sizes.
MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn :720 (775, 828, 900, 972, 1045, 1125, 1210, 1300, 1456) yards
- Check out The Fibre Company Cumbria Worsted (may need a slight bit more yarn than recommended approx. 15- 20 additional yards)
Needles:
US Size 6/4mm (32”) circular needle (Body)
US Size 4/3.5mm (40”) circular needle (Ribbing)
US Size 6/4mm (12”) circular needle (Sleeves)
US Size 4/3.5mm (12”) circular needle (Sleeve ribbing)
NOTE: These needle sizes were appropriate for gauge using Brooklyn Tweed Shelter. For Cumbria, you may find that one size larger works best for gauge.
