With a classic minimal design, Olive’s Vest by Knitting for Olive is your perfect basic slipover that is both easy to wear and easy to knit.
The vest is worked top down in stockinette stitch, and both flat and in the round. You begin with the folded ribbed neckband and continue with neckline shaping using German Short Rows before working each front and back piece separately down to the underarms. From here, you continue in the round before finishing the body with a ribbed hem. Lastly, you pick up stitches around the armholes and finish with a folded ribbed edge. Olive’s Vest is designed with positive ease. To choose the correct size, look at the ‘to fit chest circumference’ measurements on the previous page. If your actual chest circumference is, say, 98 cm [381⁄2”], you should choose to knit a size M in order to achieve the intended fit.
