Sailor Slipper by Annie Germain of Annie Sews is a modern take on the classic felted slipper. The Sailor Slippers are knit flat in stockinette, beginning with the heel panel before picking up stitches along each side to form the upper from ankle to toe. The sole is then worked from toe back to heel, creating a smooth, wraparound fit.
Once the knitting is done, the top and sole are joined with mattress stitch, the heel is seamed horizontally, and an applied i-cord finishes the opening with a clean edge. A gentle wash and felt brings everything together.
Sample is knit using 4 colors of Wooldorf Bulky in size 41, which is equivalent to a US women's 9.
