Kindness by Boo Knits seems the perfect title for this lovely shawl; knit in Amble by The Fibre Company it is soft as a kitten and light as a feather. Kindness is the perfect thing to wrap yourself in, surround yourself with, and spend some time creating, in every sense.

I wish you love, happiness and contentment as you knit your new shawl. Wrap yourself in a hug and go forth into the world determined to make a difference with a little kindness each day.

This top-down, wide triangular shawl with bands of garter stitch between patterned panels has been designed to be worked in Amble by The Fibre Company. Amble is a fingering weight, merino/alpaca mix with the addition of recycled nylon to add strength and durability whilst still being kind to our planet (see, kindness really is everywhere!).

REQUIREMENTS
Size: As written 83” (211cm) wide, 26.5” (67cm) deep before blocking and 89” (226cm) wide, 34” (86cm) deep after.
Note that measurements will differ depending on yarn, tension, blocking etc and these are therefore given as a guide only.
Yarn: Three skeins of The Fibre Co Amble (325m/100g)
Circular Needles: 3.75mm (US5) needles are used throughout and 4.5mm (US 7) are used for the bind off (minimum 1m, in length for the main needles) or needles to create a pleasing fabric – your fabric should not be too dense and should have good drape.
You will also need: stitch markers (with a pair of different ones to mark the centre stitch), needle (for weaving in ends), blocking pins and mats.
Gauge: Gauge is not overly important as this is a shawl. However, it is better to knit a swatch to ensure that you are happy with your tension and the drape of your fabric remembering that a looser gauge will result in additional yardage requirements. The gauge achieved on the garter stitch was 21 sts to 4” before blocking and 18 sts to 4” after a very gentle block, really just smoothing the damp shawl out evenly and ensuring straight lines – measurement taken over garter stitch using 3.75mm (US 5) needles.
