Waterfront by Jennifer Dassau combines four ribbing-based, highly textured stitch patterns in an oversized cowl that is completely reversible. The combination of garter, stockinette and slipped stitches is highly effective with variegated or watercolor-multi yarns, and equally beautiful in semi-solids.
Techniques & Skills Used: cable CO, knit/purl, slipped stitches, working in the round; the stitch pattern is both written and charted.
Size: one size, 12” high and 30” circumference, adjustable for varying amounts of yardage.
Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Rios (100% superwash merino wool; 210 yards/192m/100g), shown in Bobby Blue; and Sagittarius, 2 skeins, or approximately 360 yards of worsted weight wool yarn.
Other Materials: US 8 (5mm) 24” circular needle or size to match gauge; Stitch markers (1); Yarn needle.
Gauge: 18 st and 22 rows/4” in Broken Rib stitch, 17 st and 24 rows in K1P1 Ribbing, after blocking. Gauge is not critical for this project, however a different gauge may result in a smaller or larger finished cowl, and different yardage requirements.
