Yes…..this is a bouclé. There are baby loops that are created by taking Alpaca and Wool and creating the base yarn. Nylon is twisted as the secure base and as it is twisted, the base yarn is laid in place and when the rollers stop pulling, the yarn base yarn backs up and creates a loop until the rollers start again. The longer the delay the longer the loop. In this case it’s just a flash and the loops are small and secured in place. With this yarn, having small loops, knitting and crocheting are easy as the needle and the hook cannot catch the loop so the full yarn comes through each stitch and simply has a glorious texture.
