This pattern by Jade Keaney is offered as a variation on Maggie Magali’s (SouthernSelkie’s) Ginkgo Shoulderette Shawl: it reshapes the shawl from a triangle to a crescent and adjusts the lace border accordingly.

Light and lacy, this shoulderette is knit in a fingering weight yarn with a ginkgo leaf border. It’s perfect for casually wrapping around the neck or draping over the shoulders on crisp autumn or chilly spring days, and elegant enough for an evening wrap as well.

With medium-sized needles and straightforward construction, this is a reasonably quick knit - not terribly complicated, but with just a bit of challenge in working the lace pattern on both sides.

Note: there’s been confusion with the arrow symbol on the chart. It should be the triangle symbol in the key, and a s2kp.

Note 2: there’s been some confusion with when to change needle size. It’s in the border/charted lace section: rows 1-33 are worked with size 6, row 34 changes to size 8, and the bind off is worked with size 10. (This makes the edge more elastic for easier blocking.)

SIZE:
The pattern is written for a small shoulderette, but gives options for larger sizes. One skein allows for extra repeats.
