Cotton Fine has a smooth and crispy texture that will soften greatly with handling or washing. It's perfect for warm weather garments and accessories. For a unique look, hold a strand each of two colors together!

Tips for Cotton Fine yarn

  •  Winding:

All Dan Doh yarn is tri-folded after it has been bi-folded (most yarn you see at yarn shops is bi-folded). Once you open up the tri-fold, it is a bi-folded hank. Unfold one more time, and it will be a hank the same size as any other company's yarn.

The hank has two ties to protect the yarn from getting tangled. We suggest keeping ties on the hank until you put it on the swift to wind. Once the hank is on your swift, always check carefully at the two points where the hank is tied to make sure all the strands are coming out of those points the right way. If so much as one strand does a U-turn and goes the other way, you’ll end up with a hot mess on your hands. Cut ties, and wind the ball while applying tension - if you do not apply tension as you wind, the ball may fly off the winder. This is a good tip for all plant fiber yarns.

  • After winding, stuff tissue in the center cavity and use the outside end of the ball for knitting.

  • Needles:

If you feel the yarn is slippery to handle, try using wooden or bamboo needles.

  •  Join new balls:

    Using the magic knot method.

  • Blocking:

We recommend filling a bowl/bucket with water, submerging your swatch or garment and lightly squeezing it until there are no bubbles. Do not soak. Remove swatch/garment from water and squeeze as much water out of it as you can. Roll in a towel and step on it to remove as much water as possible. Stretch it, lay flat, pin sides and let dry completely.
