Knitting socks isn't difficult, but it's sometimes hard to understand. This class will introduce you to sock architecture, knitting with double pointed needles and the Kitchener stitch.

Working with DK weight yearn, we'll cast on fewer stitches on small (but not teeny tiny) needles. You should be able to complete one top-down anklet sock within the class time (there will be homework!) and feel prepared to complete the pair on your own.

Instructor - Celia McCarthy

Celia is the former owner of Piedmont Yarn & Apparel and joined the ImagiKnit East team in 2024. Known as the "Yarn Therapist", she is an extremely seasoned knitter and crocheter with a passion for creating community.

The class will take place in person at our Berkeley shop located at 2921 College Avenue.

Cast on, knit, purl and bind off.ย

100 grams of DK weight yarn (we recommend 2 balls of Sirdar Replay)
A set of US 2 or US 3 double pointed needles
Tapestry needle
