My First Sweater Class
In four 2-hour sessions, you'll learn the basics of a knitting a classic pullover.
You'll knit a cute crew-neck sweater in pieces from the bottom up. It's the perfect sweater for learning as it uses all of the basic sweater techniques. In addition, you will have your measurements taken to ensure you are making the appropriate size, assistance selecting yarn and learn the importance of swatching to ensure you make a sweater that fits.
Skills needed: CAST ON, KNIT & PURL STITCHES, INCREASE, DECREASE, BIND OFF
1090-1350 yards worsted weight yarn
US sizes 7 and 5 needles
Class 1 - Read/understand pattern, review gauge, take measurements, select and purchase yarn. You will be assigned swatching homework.
Class 2 - Review gauge swatch decide sweater size, mark up pattern, discuss selvedges
Class 3- Review seaming using mattress stitch, discuss picking up stitches for the neck edge
Class 4 - Sewing and assembly
