Immerse yourself in the dynamic world of custom knitwear design with this guided and very informative “design along” course taught by a professional designer. Flow of Knitwear Design guides you through the entire creative process — from sketching initial ideas and swatching with selected yarns to mastering fit, stitch pattern placing, and using correct finishing techniques.

Whether you're just starting out with big design dreams or looking to refine your skills, this class is designed for you. Gain the confidence to create your own sweater that fits you and is both beautiful and functional.

Disclosure: There should be no expectations of finishing a knitted sample during the time allotted for this class. We will aim for a complete design that can be knitted later.

This class meets 5 times with homework given between sessions.

Module 1: Talking about simple silhouette, correctly taken body measurements,
getting familiar with the process, and the specially prepared by Faina
worksheets.
Module 2: Making schematics and figuring out stitch patterns and their
placements.
Module 3: Begin designing a body of a garment up to the armhole.
Module 4: Designing a sleeve and choosing set-in, yoke, or raglan construction.
Module 5: Calculating yoke and adding final touches.
