Learn how to make a cable using or not using a cable needle while you are making a beautiful scarf. Samples and swatches with different cables will inspire you to choose patterns with this beautiful and very old technique. Free pattern Cable with a Twist (below, in pink) will be given in class.



Instructor - Faina Goberstein

Faina Goberstein is an independent knitwear designer, author, and a professional teacher. Taking an early retirement from a long career as a math professor gave Faina a chance to let her creativity and long-time passion for knitwear design to become a second profession. She now teaches at live events and virtually for Vogue Knitting Live, Rowan Connect, Interweave Yarn Fest, and various venues such as guilds, fiber fests, and yarn shops locally, around the country and abroad.

The class will take place in person at our Berkeley shop located at 2921 College Avenue.

Can confidently cast on, knit, purl and bind off. 


About 200 yds of worsted-weight yarn with wool content
US 8 circular or straight needles or size to match yarn
 Tapestry needle
Stitch markers
Cable needle

Supplies are not included in the cost of the class. If you choose to purchase supplies the day of the class, please arrive at the shop 30 minutes prior to the class start time to allow enough time.

If you need to cancel your reservation, please let us know as soon as possible and at least 48 hours ahead of the day and we will issue a store credit for the cost of the class. Day before or day of cancellations will result in a forfeiture of the class cost. No shows cannot be credited or refunded.
