Knit, Swirl Events

November 15, 2013

You know the book, but have you taken the plunge?

View the droolworthy coats in person later this month during our special Knit, Swirl trunk show!  They will be on display until November 9th.  If you decide to treat yourself to one this season, we’ll be happy to show you the perfect yarns to use.

Author Sandra McIver will be here on November 9th to host a book signing and Swirl Coat party!  She will be on hand to offer her advice on sizing, yarn choice and more.

Need a little extra help?  Judy will be teaching a Knit, Swirl class starting October 28th.  Learn how to cast on several hundred stitches and join in the round with ease in the first class. In the second and third class you’ll delve into mirrored decreases, pseudo short-rows, twisted yarn-over increases and Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off. By the end of the month, you should be ready to walk out in your fabulous new jacket!  Check out our class schedule for more information.

Staff Creations: Allison's L.1 Scarf

November 14, 2013

With the dreamy drape and wonderful softness of linen, how could we limit ourselves to just one color?  Allison worked up this scarf blending cool neutral colors with a pop of green.

L.1 takes 6 skeins of Shibui Linen to make — 2 skeins for color A , 2 skeins for color B , and one skein each of C and D.  The range of color options ensures that you can build your perfect project.  Made of 100% linen, this scarf is lightweight enough that you can wear it even in warmer months.
