Staff Creations: Anniversary Blanket for Allison

September 05, 2013
Over the past 11 years, Allison has brought together a motley assortment of knitters, crocheters and weavers to staff ImagiKnit.  Known affectionately as ImagiKnitters, staff past and present collaborated to make Allison a blanket commemorating her amazing 11th year in business.

Drawing inspiration from a multitude of sources including the Harmony Guides Knit and Purl, Cables and Arans, Lace and Eyelets, and The Great American Afghan, Allison’s blanket allows each ImagiKnitter to represent their unique styles and personalities.

Our blanket was made with the ever-amazing Eco Cloud and so, so much love.

Staff Creations: Allison's Neon Hat

August 08, 2013

Noticing the recent flux of brightly colored accessories and clothing, Allison made this on-trend neon reversible striped hat.  These bright colorblocks are a great way to use up yarn from leftover projects, or you could buy the yarn and plan to make multiple hats.  Consider switching the order of the stripes for a coordinated, but not overly matching, group of hats.

Allison used Encore Worsted and Uptown Worsted but any worsted weight yarn would work.  The pattern for this hat is available for free with purchase of the yarn to make it.  If you’re shopping with us online, please mention that you would like pattern H981 in the Special Instructions section at checkout.

Staff Creations: Allison's Yak Cowl

July 05, 2013

Captivated by the smooth feel of the yarn and its charming color palette, Allison whipped up Rivoletto, a deceptively easy lacy cowl.

The pattern, written by Reywa Fibers, is available for free with the purchase of Embrace (in case you missed it, make sure to read our review of Embrace here).  If you’re shopping with us online, please mention you’d like the pattern for “Rivoletto” when you purchase Embrace.  The cowl uses just one skein on 16 inch number 7 circular needles.

New from Reywa Fibers: Embrace

July 03, 2013

Reywa means hope in Tibetan, and by purchasing from Reywa Fibers, hope is what you’re providing — profits from Reywa go towards tuition assistance and coverage of living expenses for impoverished children in Tibet.  If that weren’t enough, Reywa takes part in grassland restoration projects, helping to improve the grazing lands of the yaks.  Embrace features an unbelievable, cashmere-like softness.  This yarn has quickly become a favorite among ImagiKnit staff, and we’re confident you will love it as much as we do.
