Sheep to Sweater: Wool 101 Class on February 11
January 15, 2016
Stephany Wilkes will give us the hidden story of how wool moves from sheep to sweater!
Stephany is a certified Level 2 sheep shearer and wool classer, as well as a knitter and spinner.
She’ll have raw wool samples to illustrate crimp, color, length, strength and fineness. The workshop will cover different breeds of sheep (with a focus on California sheep and wool) and how characteristics of wool are reflected in locally made yarn.
