Eleventh Hour Knit-a-Long
The end of 2015 is sneaking up on us and we know how quickly the next few weeks tend to move, especially for those of us hoping to make some gifts this year instead of buying them. Our last Knit-a-Long of the year celebrates just that.
We are embracing the time crunch with the help of one of our all-time favorite wools: Malabrigo Rasta. Starting in the 11th month of the year, knit one (or all!) of our 11th hour knitting suggestions for a final fun and lighthearted Knit-a-Long with fellow ImagiKnitters.
Rainbow Twist by Thao Nguyen is a beautiful pattern that shows off Rasta's signature colorways perfectly. Can you believe it takes only one skein? It's also a great way to learn how to provisionally cast on and graft live stitches together for the first time. The pattern is free to download here on Ravelry.
Dragon Hands by Caitlin ffrench are deceptively easy to knit mitts that your friends and family will adore. They are perfect for providing that extra touch of warmth under your jacket while leaving your fingers free. Go for a multicolor and they'll add a fun punch of color to any outfit. Requiring just a ball of Rasta, we're thinking we're going to make a ton of these this year!
We can't necessarily go fingerless for our pals on the other coast, so we also wanted to offer this mitten pattern from Hill Village and Knits. It's a great choice for those tough-to-shop-for guys in your life, especially if they happen to be tasked with the unfortunate chore of shoveling the driveway following snowy days. They take just one skein of Rasta (noticing a theme here?).
Want to join in? Stop by any time on Thursday, November 19 (we're open from 10:30-7) where we'll have fun shopping and starting our 11th hour knits. Need a refresher on provisional cast on or want a hand as you try DPNs for the first time? The staff will be happy to help. If you can't make it to the store, just join us from home and keep us posted on your progress! We'll be sharing photos, how-to videos, tips and more on our Ravelry group. Since these bite sized projects make great travel buddies, stock up before your Thanksgiving travels and you'll be well ahead of schedule!
See you soon!
