Diane's Corner: The Loom Yarn Reviews

August 06, 2014

New to the shop are three yarns from the Loom.  If you love silk (but hate the price tag!) don’t miss these three yarns that are all under $10 a skein.

Diane tried out and reviewed two of these yarns for us and can’t wait to tell you more.

New to the store is Speck, a 100% silk fingering weight yarn that is a great go-to for warm weather knits.  Speck has a raw texture and is dyed in delicate, muted shades.  It works up with a soft cotton-like feel and drape.  Try it on Cocoknits Veronika for a lightweight garment that you can wear all summer long.

Fusilli is another exciting new option from the Loom.  It is an 80% silk, 20% cotton lace weight yarn that has a soft, almost hand spun quality.  The colors are strikingly vibrant with a slight marbled appearance that would give an interesting pop to the simplest pattern.  Fusilli would be perfect for a delicate scarf such as the Surf and Sand Cowl.  This accessory would spruce up a basic summer tee and keep your neck warm and cozy when the temperatures dip.
