Mohair with silk is truly a match made in heaven. We love how incredibly lightweight yet warm this blend can be.
The combination of mohair and silk lends itself very well to oversized wraps, shawls and neckwarmers. Since these yarns are so fine, it can be tricky to get started, but before long you will be knitting along with ease! Try a pointy needle with some grip (like the Addi Lace needles or Knitter’s Pride Dreamz) when knitting silk/mohair blends.
Debbie Bliss’s Party Angel and Angel Print recently moved to our sale section to make way for some Fall/Winter 2014 yarns. Party Angel features a subtle sparkle that will add just a touch of tasteful glam to your next knitting project. Angel Print is dyed to stripe slowly as you knit. Choose a simple pattern and go – your shawl or scarf will take minimal work to look fabulous. Try one out before they’re gone!
All of our shop patterns are now on sale for $3.99! We have a wide variety of cowls, hats and more.
Grab a design to help bust your stash or treat yourself to something new. Many of our cowls only require one skein!
Back in May, we blogged about a few of the fabulous Noro yarns that are residing in our sale section. We are excited to announce a new Noro arrival: Kama!
Kama is a combination of wool, luscious silk, warm mohair and fluffy angora. At a nice chunky gauge, we lovingly refer to it as Silk Garden‘s older sister.
Kama will self-stripe as you knit it up on a size 9 or 10 needle. What about an easy diagonal scarf or even a bit of entrelac to show off those color changes? We have 8 lovely colorways to pick from!
Do some good for Mother Earth and keep your knitting needles busy this summer with some fantastic recycled yarns from our sale section!
Knitting with recycled fibers often means keeping tons of cast-off garments and fabric scraps out of landfills. We stock some fabulous recycled yarns like Remix and 2nd Time Cotton but you can also find a few great options in our sale section.
Rowan Purelife Renew is a bulky weight recycled wool blend. Soft and gently flecked, this yarn could be a great option for a cozy winter sweater. We have only one color left, but plenty of it!
Elsebeth Lavold’s Twice Tweed blends cotton, wool and polyamide to make a sturdy aran-weight yarn great for anything from knit jackets to housewares. Some of the girls on staff recommend it specifically for coasters and dish clothes because of it’s unique texture. Get some for only $4.75 a ball!
Riveting (by Kollage Yarns) is a soft and lightweight cotton blend. It could knit up to be a fantastic summer shawl or scarf. Check out the remaining colors here.
This summer, you can shop Berroco and earn free patterns for every $25 spent.
