Rowan rock star Sarah Hatton is headed our way! She will be here on the evenings of July 21 and 22 for two can’t-miss classes.
You may know Sarah from her dozens of publications with Rowan. She also has an impressive 720 designs under her belt on Ravelry. Her two classes will be intensive learning opportunities that will hugely broaden your knitting knowledge!
Join us on Monday, July 21 from 4-10 PM for a course on amending a pattern (including the basics of pattern writing). Attendees are encouraged to bring along their old favorite Rowan pattern which they would like to amend or a garment they like. We will look at the basics of how a knitting pattern is written, helping you to alter sweaters to cardigans or neck shaping or start to write your own pattern. The class cost is $150.
On Tuesday, July 22 from 4-10 PM we will be holding a professional finishing techniques class. No longer be afraid of seamed patterns! This class offers tips and advice to help your projects look handmade not homemade. Sewing up a garment, neat shaping, picking up stitches and other useful advice will help give you confidence to finish your projects beautifully. The class cost is $150.
Both classes will be held at Samovar Tea Lounge (across the street from us), so you can sip and munch to your heart’s delight throughout class. Can’t make the class? Drop in on our free book signing on Tuesday, 7/22 from 3-4 PM.
Registration is now open. Give us a call or stop by to enroll!

Join us on Saturday, June 28th from 11-1 P.M. for a special yarn tasting event! Bring your own needles and sample from a variety of Plymouth yarns. We’ll have yarns of every gauge, so be prepared to experiment.
Participants will receive a special 10% discount on their purchase of Plymouth yarns (but only during the yarn tasting). Can’t make it? We will be hosting a massive trunk show including garments, items for the home and more. The trunk show will run from June 23rd until July 9th.
Can’t wait to see you there!
Hilary Smith Callis is a local designer who considers The Yarniad as her knitting “epic”. You may know her by her Citron shawl, which was published in Knitty in 2009.
After releasing Citron (her first pattern if you can believe it!), she went on to start the Yarniad. She now has an impressive collection of garments and accessories under her belt and has featured in Knitscene, Twist Collective and Brave New Knits. Her knitwear is flattering, feminine and beautifully designed. She is a staff and customer favorite!
We have the pleasure of hosting several of Hilary’s designs right here at the shop. Stop by to try them on, preview the patterns and start your own! Follow us on Facebook as we spotlight her designs throughout the next two weeks. The trunk show will run until June 16th.
Registration is now open! Stephen West of Westknits and Steven Berg of StevenBe will be headed our way during the 1st annual Fiberlicious Stephen & Steven Tour. This magical team of knitting and design inspiration will bring their amazing energy, talent and creativity to ImagiKnit this summer.
On Monday June 30th, Stephen and Steven will be showing off their favorite shawls and accessories in a trunk show extravaganza. The guys will consult with participants and help them pick out the perfect yarn combinations to make their own masterpieces. Receive hands on tips and tricks from the designers themselves. You will also be the first to have access to some exclusive and commemorative yarns celebrating the tour.
The trunk show will run from 4-7 P.M. In order to ensure quality time with our hosts, we ask that you call to reserve a one-hour spot (4-5, 5-6 or 6-7). The fee for this event will be $15. Spaces are limited, so give us a call today!
