Diane’s Corner: Fine Donegal

Fine Donegal (a new tweed from Debbie Bliss) has just hit our shelves!  It looks just beautiful nesting in our new Binkwaffle bags, doesn’t it?

Diane snatched up a few balls as soon as we got it in to make a Knitbot Featherweight cardigan.  She recently swatched it up for us and is here to share her thoughts.

A new yarn from Debbie Bliss – just in time for fall!  Debbie Bliss Fine Donegal is a thick and thin sport weight yarn made of 95% merino wool and 5% cashmere – what a great blend!  When we opened the box, we all gushed at the gorgeous rich colors.  There are sixteen colors in all.  The thick and thin yarn provides a rustic texture while the addition of cashmere keeps it soft.    Since it’s a sport weight yarn, garments and accessories made with Fine Donegal are light and can be worn throughout multiple seasons in our variable San Francisco climate.    The Debbie Bliss Fine Donegal book contains thirteen romantic patterns using this yarn.   Cast on the lacey shawl (the cover pattern) in the Terracotta colorway for a striking fall must-have accessory.  I can’t wait to start my new sweater!

Check out the selection of colorways available and view the pattern collection here.
