Customer Creations

We have seen some cool customer creations this month and we can’t wait to show them off!  You know how we love to brag about our talented customers.

claudia-cima

Claudia (no stranger to our Customer Creations column) recently knit this bobble pullover using Shibui Cima.  She dug the pattern out of vintage magazine from the 80′s.  We love the colors she picked out.  It’s such a fun spin on a retro design!

loretta-minis

Loretta stopped by last week to show off her amazing collection of miniatures.  All of her minis are completely self-designed.  She uses luxury fingering weight yarns and various scraps to create them.  They are truly one-of-a-kind!

ann-ripple

Ann dropped by to show off her Gusset Tunic (which was featured in Knit.Wear’s latest’s issue).  She used Tahki Ripple, a unique tape yarn that knits up with an incredible texture.

llama-laceYou won’t get bored counting rows while working with this beauty!  Llama Lace is hand dyed in about a dozen fun colorways.  Made from 100% llama (similar to alpaca if you haven’t tried it yet), it’ll keep you warm and be perfectly drapey for a lightweight shawl.

We are making room for winter yarns. See what else is new in our sale section by clicking here!

Customer Creation: Rachele’s Shoreline Wrap

If anything is going to make you miss summer, it’s this beautiful wrap knitted by our long-time customer Rachele.

Using Jane Thornley’s Shorewrap Wrap pattern as her guide, Rachele mixed shades of Malabrigo’s Silky Merino with Summer Twist and Heichi.  The Silky Merino (in shades of blues and greens) make up the ocean.  The Summer Twist (which is currently on sale in the shop!) represents the white caps and sea foam of the waves.  Shibui’s Heichi in a tweedy tan color is added to give the appearance of sand.

Rachele based her design off of Jane’s version above.  Though the pattern provided her the guidelines, she freeformed the color changes to make the version her own.  Absolutely stunning!
