Rowan Fur is just plain fun!
Fur is a chunky weight yarn made from 97% wool with 3% polyamide to bind it. Fur is super soft and well, furry. Although the yarn is chunky, the fabric is light with a nice drape.
Fur is fun and easy to work with and is available in a natural palette of four shades. Cozy up under a Fur scarf or cowl during the cold winter months. Try Fur to make a striking statement piece. The possibilities for this fun yarn are endless!
Curious about machine knitting, but don’t know where to start? Come by the shop on Saturday, August 23rd for a free machine knitting demo!
Instructor Jillian Carrozza began specializing in knitwear design at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City ten years ago. She went on to study at the world-renowned Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London where she gained invaluable industry experience from internships at design studios in Europe, such as Knit-1 in Brighton, England and John Galliano in Paris, France. Trained in both industrial and domestic machine knitting, the designer’s acclaimed graduate collection was entirely hand crocheted from original patterns for textile structures she engineered. Having recently returned to the west coast from New York City, Jillian looks forward to sharing her knowledge, enthusiasm, and experience with the knitting community of San Francisco.
She will be here at the shop at 11 AM on August 23rd to host a machine knitting demo. Since we offer private lessons on machine knitting, joining us first for the demo will be a great way to figure out if the lesson will be right for you. We’ll look forward to seeing you then!

Kelsey Leib, our resident fiber artist, will be teaching a brand new felting class here at ImagiKnit this summer!
Nuno felting is a form of wet felting that uses a silk chiffon fabric base. Using merino wool roving in a variety of colors, you can create a beautiful tapestry atop the fabric. The result is a stunning and lightweight scarf that is completely one-of-a-kind.
This workshop will take place from 6-9 PM on Thursday, September 18th (our August class has sold out). Check out our class schedule for more information and give us a call at 415-621-6642 to enroll. Absolutely no experience is necessary!
Kelsey Leib is an ImagiKnitter by day and a fiber artist by night.
She graduated from Kent University with a BFA in Textiles and has been featured in galleries in Ohio, California and Washington. Her vast knowledge of fibers and expertise in knitting, weaving, felting and crochet make her a huge asset to the ImagiKnit staff.
Kelsey’s sculptural textile work reflects her interest in the relationship of bodies as vessels and the dualities that are present in these forms. She uses visual and material means to reference contrasts or complexities that are present in the physical and spiritual manifestations of self, particularly with respect to women.
Technique, material, and shape are all carefully considered to define a series of distinctive figural forms. Each piece is meant to reflect different poetic associations with the body as a vessel.
Though Kelsey has worked with a variety of textures, she has had great success experimenting with yarns by Habu Textiles and Ito. Stop by the shop this month to see some of her work in person, and don’t miss out on her Nuno Felting class which will be held on August 28th!
