Diane’s Corner: Rowan Chenille

We just received Rowan’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection and can’t wait to share it with you!  Diane will be reviewing each of our new arrivals, starting with Chenille.

chenille-style

Chenille is a 100% cotton sport weight yarn.  Working with Chenille is a pleasure as the yarn is soft yet has some weight.  It is spun differently from other chenilles and shouldn’t “worm” as you knit with it.  The resulting fabric has a velvety, luxurious touch.  Chenille has great stitch definition and is available in twelve jewel-tone colors which make this yarn perfect for cables and textured stitches as well as colorwork projects.  Check out the pattern book for Chenille or try it for a great home accent such as Martin Storey’s Triangle Squares Cushion.

Have you ever worked with a chenille yarn that you found difficult to knit?  If so, you have to give this yarn a try.  It’s so refreshing to see wearable chenille on the market!  Take a look at our selection of colors here.
