Yarn Peace on Boston

Earlier this week, a customer shared her story of contributing to a collaborative work of public art by Communal Yarn Bomb. She writes:

“Yarn, not bombs. Creating, not destroying.
We, of Communal Yarn Bomb, are saddened by the violence that recently struck Boston. We mourn for the loss of life as well as for the stress that the events caused for its citizens, especially its children. In an effort to promote non-violence and non-violent or civil rights-impeding responses to violence, we organized a “Yarn Bomb of Peace” for the people of Boston. We believe that peace begins in each person’s heart and mind and we want to help those touched by violence to heal. This project is our small gesture toward that end. Olive green is the color for peace and figures prominently in these creations.”
