New from Rowan

Softknit Cotton

New from Rowan, Softknit Cotton is a 92% cotton, 8% polyamide blend.  Cable spun, this yarn is especially springy, light, and bouncy.  Garments made from Softknit Cotton will be lighter than typical cotton yarns.  To top it off, it’s machine washable. Read more about it here.

Softknit Cotton came with its own pattern book, Softknit Collection.

Softknit Collection is bursting with cables and contemporary aran designs, so check out their modern take on classic knits.

We love the designs Kenmare (top) and Kerry (bottom).

Also new from Rowan is All Seasons Chunky.  A much bigger version of All Seasons Cotton, All Seasons Chunky is a bulky weight machine-washable 60% cotton 40% acrylic blend.  If you love All Seasons Cotton, you will love All Seasons Chunky.  This yarn boasts excellent stitch definition and bounces back impressively.  Read more about it here.

Rowan published a summery pattern book to pair with the yarn, All Seasons Chunky Collection.

We encourage you to check out Gaia (top) and Aphrodite (bottom).

The latest issue of Rowan Magazine has hit the shelves!  In it you’ll find innovative design elements that work with the nature of the yarn to create eye-catching garments and accessories.

Take a look at these great designs using Summerspun.

Yarn Review: Pashmina Worsted

Like its sport weight little sister Pashmina, Pashmina Worsted is a scrumptious blend of 75% merino wool, 15% silk, and 10% cashmere.  Did we mention that it’s machine washable?  Consider a merino-silk-cashmere baby blanket, or a merino-silk-cashmere cardigan, or maybe a merino-silk-cashmere plushie for that extra special child (or child at heart).  The possibilities, as they say, are endless.

Due to the silk content, projects made from Pashmina Worsted have a sheen to them.  A cowl in Pashmina Worsted is squishy, lustrous, and oh, so soft.  Consider a double-wrap cowl to keep this loveliness as close to your neck as possible.  You will not regret it.

Pashmina Worsted — in both its fiber content and gorgeous colorways —  makes it an ideal choice for handmade keepsakes.  Paired with its easy-care wash instructions, gifts in Pashmina Worsted (for yourself or for others) couple practicality with preciousness.
