        Get help with your project! We will cover reading the pattern shorthand, working in the round, understanding international crochet chart symbols, making gauge calculations, finishing techniques and many more helpful tips. Very informative follow up to our "Crochet 101" class.

      • Fixing Mistakes $40

        Mistakes happen, whether you're brand new to knitting or not! Learn how to pick up a dropped stitch, unknitting and unpurling, "frogging" with confidence, and more. You'll learn how mistakes happened, how to fix them, and how to prevent them! (A great follow-up to Knitting 101)

          • Cast on 20 sts of light to medium color worsted weight yarn with appropriate needles and work 10 rows in Garter stitch (knit all rows), then knit 10 rows in Stockinette stitch (knit a row, purl a row). Don't cut yarn. Leave work on needles.
          • Please have your homework done before the start of class. There is no down time to complete it during class. Bring in this sample piece.

        Prerequisite skills: Cast on, knit, purl and cast off

      • Hand Sewing: Bag Lining $40

        Give your knit and crochet bags the added strength of a fabric lining and a professional touch! learn the running, back, catch and slip stitch sewing stitches. You'll also learn how to attach a button using a couture technique and other tips and tricks to make your hand sewing look more professional.

      • Design to Fit Workshop $120

        You completed a sweater. Now increase your satisfaction by designing one that fits you better! Create your own pattern with elements that flatter your body type, take measurements to ensure a good fit, chose yarn that compliments your sweater's structure, and understand how it all works together. Includes plan-ahead finishing techniques.

      • Introduction to Drop Spindle Spinning $65

        Make your own yarn! Learn to spin roving with a drop spindle, ply, and prepare yarn for knitting or crochet. We will examine yarn structure, fiber characteristics, spinning a continuous single, and making a 2-ply yarn.

      • Knitting as Meditation $200

        In this class series, you will discover meditation techniques to calm your mind while you knit or crochet. You will develop your own sense of calm, centeredness, and well-being. This path to self-awareness and growth has the same benefits of a walking meditation or mindfulness meditation, however here, you get to handcraft and make beautiful things for yourself and your loved ones. This course works best for those who already know the basics of how to knit or crochet.

        Ravelry has come a long way since it's inception. It now has an amazing array of tools that can be used to make your knitting and crochet life easier. In this class we'll explore the various options in Ravelry, including many tips and tricks on how to improve searches (beyond the advanced search option), how to manage your favorites, queued, and owned patterns, how to easily organize a large number of message boards, how to effectively use your stash and library and more!

      • Rigid Heddle Weaving $80

        This class utilizes a rigid heddle loom (versus a larger table loom). In only two sessions, you’ll have a beautiful hand woven scarf. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to experiment with colors and textures to create anything your heart desires! Bring your own rigid heddle loom or rent one for only $10.

        Take the next step with your rigid heddle skills! We will learn to work with luxury or novelty yarns and simple pick up patterns to expand what you can do with this great weaving tool. Bring your loom warped with 3 yards of a main color yarn. We will weave a sampler/scarf using your choice of yarn.

        Cold feet? Not after this class! Socks are fun and easy, especially when knit on two circular needles. You'll learn the basic principles of cuff-down sock construction, from turning the heel to grafting the toe.

Classes must be paid in full at the time of registration in order to hold your spot.  All supplies must be purchased before the class.  Upon signing up for a class, any changes in attendance must be made three days prior to the start of the class. If you need to cancel a class, we will issue you a store credit for the amount paid.  Unfortunately, cancellations made with fewer than three days' notice result in a forfeiture of the registration fee. There are no make up sessions if one of the class sessions is missed.  Classes have minimum enrollments; if these are not met, we reserve the right to cancel classes with 24 hours notice. Refunds for classes we cancel will be given in the method paid.
