Free Pattern Friday: Sockhead Slouch Hat

September 16, 2016

We have your next favorite hat - the Sockhead Slouch Hat!

sockhead slouch hat

This super cute and super popular pattern by Kelly McClure uses only one skein of sock yarn.  There's a few inches of ribbing then miles and miles of stockinette (in the round so no purling!)  which makes this a a perfect project for social knitting, traveling, watching TV or just about anything.  There are so many yarn possibilities!   Hand-dyed yarns such as Malabrigo Sock or Tosh Merino Light are always beautiful.

The Sockhead Slouch Hat would be super cute in stripes!  Try a self striping yarn such as Zauberball or Rialto Luxury Sock for stripes without the work.

Solids more your thing?  Super Lamb Sock or Cumbria Fingering are beautiful yarns in great color choices.

Top it off with a super soft Lapin Pom Pom and you're good to go!

We've heard these hats are addicting!  They make great gifts (hint...hint - there's a holiday right around the corner!)

Grab the pattern here, get yourself some yarn and you're set for the weekend!

Happy Knitting!
