Free Pattern Friday: Rainy Day, Warm Toes
It's a rainy day here in San Francisco, so all we want to do is slip on some cozy house socks and curl up with a cup of tea.
We love knitting socks, but rarely can we finish a pair in one weekend when we're on our size 1 dpns. Instant gratification for your chilly toes is here! Our friend Tiny Owl Knits designed the house slippers above and made the free pattern available for download here. They call for one ball of Lamb's Pride Bulky, but you could also use TweedleDeeDum, Velvet, Malabrigo Chunky or Misti Alpaca Chunky. The adorable bow on top is a great way to use scrap ribbon or yarn and will make your slippers totally one-of-a-kind.
If you're looking for something more traditional, you can try you hand at the Yarn Harlot's Foot Ovens pattern. The pattern seems a bit more vague, so some sock knitting experience is recommended. It calls for two colors of the incredibly soft Misti Alpaca Chunky.
Put the kettle on, grab your needles and cozy up!
