Knitting for Burning Man

August 09, 2014

Burning Man always sneaks up on us.  If it weren’t for our creative customers, we might miss it!  It seems to be a great venue in which to show off new and exciting knit fashions.

Stafford is new to our shop, but has been knitting with ferocity since we met him a couple weeks ago.  He was immediately drawn to Rozetti’s Wicked Fur yarn, which he found a little tricky to knit alone because it’s on such a fine strand.

To “tame” the Wicked Fur, he paired it with Cascade’s Pinwheel yarn to add both bulk and a subtle pop of color.  These cuffs came out great!

Will (shown above) stopped in to show off his Pashmina Worsted and Koigu cowl (which we nicknamed “Jenn’s Cowl” after the designer).  He made his a little smaller and shorter so it would fit more like a headband.  We love the colors he chose!  You can find more info on this design on our past blog post.

Handspun yarns are popular for hair dreads at Burning Man.  Not only is it a fun way to change up your look, it also protects your hair from the damaging heat.  It’s a blast to help people pick their colors!

Do you have any Burning Man knits planned for this year?  We’d love to see what you’ve made!  Send us an e-mail (info@imagiknit.com) or post it to our Facebook page.
